Capacity Building, Training and Education
We facilitate and enable maritime stakeholders to build the capabilities they need to drive an impact.
Whether before or after the development of sustainability strategy, gaps exist between current capabilities and those needed to deliver on future ambitions. We offer tailored training programmes that help your team close these gaps.
We offer this essential capacity building both in person and virtually.
Lets get your team up to speed
-
We design training that lays out your sustainability roadmap as a learning experience.
Materials are developed to support your organisation's specific capacity building needs. As required we align your visual identity, strategy and cultural cursors.
-
We facilitate training sessions in a classroom like setting thats focused on enabling a team to meet their sustainability goals. We align to our audience and their knowledge level, focusing on the most valuable information for the context.
When possible, we include workshop elements as a part of our facilitation.
-
We develop and deliver academic content across various platforms, ranging from business schools to maritime academies.
Our focus is on bridging theory with practice, in order to enable students to better understand how the future of maritime sustainability may be shaped.

Course contribution: Sustainable Business Strategy at DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia
2023, 2024, 2025
Context
DIS Copenhagen, a non-profit study abroad institution, invited us to deliver a case study for their Sustainable Business Strategy course.
Solution
Across several semesters, we delivered an introduction to sustainability in shipping and gave them a glimpse of the strategic challenges actors of the maritime sector are exposed to. For most of these students, this was their first encounter with the maritime industry. Several of these students have afterwards continued seeking opportunities in the maritime sector.
“Both Sofia and Conor have a creative and enthusiastic nature, we have seen this in their interaction with us in the classroom. They thrive on academic challenges, and they are obvious partners for anyone who wants to learn more about the Maritime Industry and Sustainability.”

Conference Design: ‘Opening Oceans’ Conference for NOR-SHIPPING
Context
Nor-Shipping contacted us to design and lead a two-day conference that brought together leaders from maritime, finance, technology, policy, research, and NGOs to explore how sustainable ocean industries could develop through collaboration.
Solution
We designed a conference that combined keynote stages, high-level think tanks and interactive “Exploration Islands” focused on practical solutions and emerging business models. Participants included representatives from the United Nations, OECD, AP Møller Maersk, Wärtsilä, DNV GL, Nordea and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance.
The conference resulted in an early cross-sector platform for systems-based maritime sustainability thinking — linking shipping, ocean health, innovation, finance and governance in one shared conversation.
